HOCKEY AT ALL COSTS.

Just got an email and some pics from our good pal Dwayne back home. Have I mentioned lately how badly I wish I was still in Edmonton at a time like this, surrounded by fans like these?

Hey, dudes.

Some playoff photos for you...

A few industrious hippie-hosers found high ground at North Country Fair this weekend, wrapped a TV in garbage bags, hooked it up to a Canadian Tire Eliminator generator ("I'll start with you-u-u") and managed to squeeze out a sort-of-watchable picture for a crowd of about sixty people.

The audio came courtesy of 630 CHED and the young lady in the coconuts, who had to hold on to a broken car antenna for the game's entirety.

Tonight: Oilers 4, Canes 2.
We can only hope, good sir. Also, consider this to be the official game-time thread of tonight's life-defining sports event.

One hour to go...

This isn't happening. I'm gonna wake up in a cold sweat at any minute. Hemsky has not turned into a cliche version of himself. The Oilers are not following up the most dominant performances of the playoffs with one of the most half-hearted lakadasical efforts in Cup finals history. The Cup is not going to go to take up residence in a state where hockey ranks below Ultimate Fighting in popularity.

This is a nightmare.

They're just setting us up for the greatest comeback in history, right?

Or are they setting me up to cry for weeks on end .. for the second finals in a row.

Western teams make me fall in love with them ... then they screw me.
