I live in Fort Saskatchewan ("The Fort", baby!") and strangely enough I'm in Toronto as my boss wanted me down here to meet my new team. Went out to the Marlowe in Richmond Hill, and ended up getting about 10 free drinks for being from Edm. in the first place (WTF?) and wearing an Oilers jersey.Toronto's not all that bad. Drunken people dancing to salsa/latino music and buying me more drinks 4tw!Now I have to convince my boss to let me stay here for the next game...
Um, buddy in the rear is wearing a Flames hat.
It's a ghost image off Whyte from 2004. Fish' camera can see through time.
Which one of those guys is "Liberty" and which is "Justice"?
It's symbolic. It's the Oilers stepping in front of the Flames. As in, one-upping them. As in...You get it.
Mudcrunch79 has it right - sorta. I was stunned at how busy JASPER AVE. was last night. And that's where the time-travelling came in, because it felt like the '80s again and I loved it.Citing non-existent riots amid generally tame crowds of tens of thousands, my good friends the cops have all but destroyed any good-timing on Whyte (one mean pig yelled at me to quit "lollygagging" and "cross if you're going to cross" when I was using a green light too slow for him). Jasper is where los mutantos real live!If only everyone would walk EVERY street, really party.
