A REASONABLE ACQUISITION.

Because his name is Marty REASONER. Get it? Hello? Is this fucking thing on or what?

Anyhow, the man TSN calls an "extremely intelligent player" — pictured here in his St. Loo days, cavorting with the Orbs of Sour (good suggestion, James) and some fat dude with a state-required goatee who is probably making fart noises over the PA system — is apparently back for another go-round with the Oilers.

And while he is decidedly not a top-four defenceman, this is a smart pickup. No one I talked to ever had a problem with Reasoner when he was on the ice. He's a strong faceoff man, if I recall, and he'll likely play the same fourth-line minutes Peca did, although with a greater chance of scoring.

No sir. Can't complain.

He wouldn't be smiling like that if he knew that one day, the Orbs would damn near take his ear off.

zing! on the peca line. also pleased to see him back, although still hungry for a RFA d-man. was also hoping for J.R.

Shouldn't the title be ' A Reasonable Re-Acquisition 'considering this is, what , the second time KLo has plucked MS from the depths of dispair ( first time being after he was put on waivers a few seasons back while with the Oilers and now after being jettisoned to the B's for a cog in the wheel that was the SC Run ). Hopefully, Reasoner sees it all as being part of the business and should harbour no hard feelings being re-signed on. I never had a problem with Reasoner and am glad that he is back in the mix - he's a decent checking centreman and can provide some secondary scoring ( as well as being utilized on the PK ).

Ummm... Reasoner played his first full season in the NHL last year (well, if you count 77 games as a full season). This sentence need a "if he can manage to stay healthy," preceeding it. That said, Reasoner as a fourth line C isn't a bad thing. Reasoner as a second line C like they've tried to make him in the past is.

Also, this probably means good-bye to "Rem the Gem"

Out of curiousity.. what are all these injuries he's gotten?

I know of the knee-ankle thing in 2004-2005, but outside of that, his time not in the NHL was spent in the press-box or in the AHL.

Minor injuries... punctured lungs, blown off ears.. those haven't taken off more then a couple games here or there.

The "fat dude with a state-required goatee who is probably making fart noises over the PA system" happens to be KELLY CHASE. He played 12 years in the NHL and finished with 53 career points. He also finished with 2,017 career penalty minutes from kicking the likes out of pussies like you. Not bad from a guy who only stood 6'0" and hailed from Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan; Canada.

Oh no! I hope Kelly Chase doesn't read that and become inspired to beat up a pussy like me!

Hear Hear for Kelly Chase! You gotta love a guy who fought his tenant (Tony Twist was renting a house from him when the two locked horns).
