Say it ain't so,, Andy

First, the Oilers suck and suck hard; hard enough for a reasonable fan to turn on the arena-greasing, ticket price-increasing Edmonton Investors Group and their slick sales machine, lead by the true heart-and-soul of the team, Pat LaForge. Now another equally crushing casualty from this nightmare season: estimable, stalwart Oilogosphere blogger Andy Grabia is quitting Battle of Alberta. I can't think of a better, more prolific blogging performance this year, especially after he filled the dangerously large shoes of BoA's previous Oilers scribe, Sacamano. We can only hope that Andy takes a well-deserved break, watches some baseball, writes a novel or something, and then comes back into the fold next fall. The Oilogosphere is Toby Petersen without him.

That really, really made my day. Thanks for the kind words, Mike. And dont worry. I'll most certainly be hanging around here.

Does this have anything to do with the crushing despair of knowing Lowe gutted the team to send Smyth and Bergeron to the playoffs?

Not really. It certainly didn't help, but I had pretty much decided before Feb. 27th.

Wow. I think I want to quit if that's your opinion of the rest of us, Mike.

Of course, it does work as a fitting tribute. So long, Grabby. Blogging isn't going to be the same without you.
