O Captain!

This means that Ethan Moreau will, per Oilers' tradition (curse?), certainly be traded during his captaincy. Almost all previous captains have been traded, with the biggest exception being Shayne Corson, who had the special ignominy of being stripped of his captaincy for being a weasel. Alternate captains: Steve Staios and Jarret Stoll for road games; Ales Hemsky and Shawn Horcoff for home games.

Buchberger wasn't traded - he was left unprotected.

I didn't say he was, Steve, you dink.

You write "almost", I read " ", apparently. And then you write "biggest", and I read "only".

Basically, I'm a hero in the Jacques Demers mold.

Yeah but most teams have done the same with their captains in the modern age - there are few Sakics/Yzermans/Scott Steves' anymore.

That is a really weird picture.

Hmm...not really related, but something like this little blurb on Corson gives me hope for Pisani:

"Was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, a chronic disease that causes inflammation and sores in the lining of the large intestine, at age 15 and played his entire junior and pro career with the condition."

I just hope Pisani can do as well.
