At last, I finally have a garment fine enough to be married in.

So, uh, wow. Thanks to my parents, Oilers equipment manager Jeff Lang and the 2007-08 Edmonton Oilers for this completely unexpected and thoroughly awesome gift. It's basically the coolest thing in the world.

I've got a shiny nickel here for the first person who can tell me whose signature that is at the very bottom right. I think his name starts with a "4".

Can't imagine there are too many of you reading this blog today, but hope everyone's enjoying the holidays. I'm headed back to Toronto tomorrow; this visit was far too short.

Jarret Stoll. His signature is illegible, but there's a 16 at the end.

Allan, I accept your explanation. That nickel is in the mail (postage owing upon delivery).

So Chris, there must be a story behind this. Does your dad know someone at the Oilers?

Why are they signing and selling these precious old jerseys when they could be wearing them?

Also, I'm pleasantly surprised to learn that Raffi doesn't sign his name with an "X".

Mike: No big fascinating story, but my folks have a friend who's apparently related to the team equipment manager who set this up. I'm told our blog is known in the dressing room at Rexall place, which seems absurd, but hey. It was a very pleasant surprise, to be sure.

And yes, Tyler, seeing this old jersey again for the first time in a while makes you realize what a terrible job they did on the redesign. This is classic Oilers right here. If they took this jersey and slapped on the '96 epaulettes for next year, I could die a happy man.

Dear Raffi Torres, if you ever read this blog I can give you Tyler's home address if you want to beat him up.

:D

mc79hockey,

to answer your question...these jerseys are for sale at the Oilers Store in Kingsway Garden Mall. They are on sale for 69.99

Don't worry. I'm not mental. I work there, and have repeated that price 9 million times in the last week

Thats a super sweet gift! I figured out the signatures except one...who's is between Moreau & Stoll's? I see a 33 maybe 38? but those aren't numbers on the Oilers. And theres no Smid, Penner, Pitkanen or Pisani..but it's not Pisani's I've seen his before..same with Penner.

Penner signs his signature with leftover BBQ sauce that is always on his face...

Ye gods! The night the Oilers blow a 3 goal lead against Minnesota Ty Conklin has to go and get a shut-out.
