So long, Thor!

Great Óðinn! Patrick Thoresen has been snapped up from waivers by the Philadelphia Flyers. This leaves the Oilers with one less contract to worry about, but the team loses a pretty good little plugger with hands of stone so far in the NHL (although he's almost scoring at a 1 PPG pace this season in the AHL). Good luck, Ëlectric Nörseman, I'm sure you'll have a 30 point run as Joffrey Lupul's linemate now!

Chance of Stauffer mentioning Lupul and MacT when talking about this story today: 110%.

Prediction: Thoresen and Lupul end up as linemates and collide at full speed on their first shift together, tearing their knee ligaments like they're wet spaghetti and ending both their careers forever. Jason Smith somehow takes both their shifts at the same time and scores eight goals.

You heard it here first.

Is he waiting outside Rexall for his Mom pick to him up and drive him to Philly? Either I'm getting older or these kids are getting a lot younger.

Farewell young Electric Norseman, and good luck in Philly.

I hate it when hockey players adopt the relaxed-urban-guy look, like in this photo. That look is for the rest of us, you millionaire assholes! Grow a mustache and quit washing your hair.

How long has it been since the CinO team actually commented on a game? Not criticising, watching the Coil hurts my eyes too.

I guess it's just indicative of another write off season that we amuse ourselves with diversions other than the actual play of the team.

The other risk I see is that the poor play of the Coilers will discourage interest in those writing this blog. Stay strong!

I'd say fire Lowe, but, well, you know...

Let me get this straight: you don't want to see Moreau play because he gets hurts so much and thus can't play?

That's some seriously M.C. Escher-esque shit right there.

Being injured fighting hard to win a close game against a division rival means you're not a leader.

Real leaders lead while skating around the blueline in aimless circles. I guess what I'm saying is we traded the man who should have been captain when we dumped Lupul.

That's right, it's better to have a "leader" on the ice for 32 games in two years than anyone else for 164.

I'll take Lupul's 164 as opposed to Moreau for 32. Oh and I absolutely hate Lupul with a passion.
