Oilers Vs Avalanche: feel the surge!

Ah, Toronto. After two straight wins against the 8th place Flyers, the local buzz of "we're not dead yet" has turned into a low murmur of playoff talk, as if Leafs were capable of winning almost every single remaining game in the season. Never mind that there's three other teams in the way, two of which have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, with the Oilers lagging 7 points behind in the West buried under some damning Corsi numbers, other teams and a dreadful regulation record, fans can sensibly stick to what we know best: cheering against a high Brian Burke draft pick, along with the bonus throw-in of the Canucks missing the playoffs. Let us not be distracted with all of this playoff nonsense.

What's that, you say? We still have two games left against the Canucks, including the season-ender? And their top defender Mattias Ohlund is out for the rest of the year? And the Canucks are one well-timed goalie injury from losing every remaining game in the season? Stupid, stupid voices. They ring so loudly in my puckhat...

Silly Oilers fan. Haven't you figured out yet Luongo is made of rubber?

Goalie injury. Pffft. That won't happen until Game 1 of the finals.

I suppose its only fair to cheer against my Canucks. Its kinda an unwritten law. Its the same as when I watch a Flames game and hope that Kipper gets beat up, or watch an Oilers game and wait to see the meltdown and inevitable loss. My Nucks have handled the Oil easily this year, and quite frankly besides the one Sat night beauty, have been bullied, beaten and intimidated all year. I see both games as easy wins, but thats my view.
Ps. I hate the Oil, but the Pisani story is crazy, and its nuts if he doesnt win the Masterton. Its just a great story of determination and guts.

Handled the oil easily by going 3 and 3 against them?

Haha, beat me to it. Funny that a Canucks fan that loves his team so much wouldn't know their record against a division rival.

And this game is just to get all the goals against in so they can finish the season with 10 consecutive shutouts...also I believe in leprechauns and fairy dust =(.

I can't speak for you, but after that game all the fairy dust went straight up my nose.
